BOONE, N.C. – App State has named Drew Jacobs as its new Associate AD for Facilities & Event Management.

Jacobs will oversee the facilities and event management unit while serving as a member of the department’s administrative leadership team. He will manage all aspects of capital projects for App State Athletics.

“I’m very excited to be a part of the App State community. I want to thank Doug Gillin and Jonathan Reeder for trusting me to oversee the facilities and event management team,” Jacobs said. “I credit Wood Selig, Bruce Stewart and Rick French at ODU for preparing me to take on this role with confidence. I look forward to enhancing the already exciting experience of attending an App State sporting event.”

Jacobs joins the Mountaineers following eight years at Old Dominion University where he served as an assistant athletics director. He oversaw aspects of facilities and events management, various capital projects and scheduling of all athletic facilities. He also supervised the event management staff, oversaw the event operations for all home contests, and was the sport administrator for the men’s and women’s sailing programs.

Prior to joining ODU, Jacobs spent three years at Western Kentucky as the Assistant Coordinator of Athletic Facilities, overseeing facility and event management for baseball, track and field, volleyball and soccer.

Additionally, Jacobs has directed championships for a variety of Sun Belt, Mid-American Conference, Conference USA and NCAA postseason competitions.

Jacobs attended Western Kentucky, where he earned his undergraduate degree in sports management, before earning his master’s in sports administration.

Jacobs resides in Boone with his wife, Taylor, and son, Cooper.
