IN RECENT WEEKS, A DECLINE IN DONATIONS HAS CAUSED THE AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD SUPPLY TO SHRINK NEARLY 20%. THIS DROP IN DONATIONS COULD LEAD TO A SEASONAL BLOOD SHORTAGE, WHICH CAN NEGATIVELY IMPACT PATIENT CARE AT HOSPITALS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

The Ashe County Volunteer Initiative Program is holding a ‘Stop Hunger Drive’ accepting Monetary Donations Only thru Dec. 31st. Checks can be mailed to or taken by: Generations Ashe, 180 Chattyrob Lane, W.J. Write ‘Stop Hunger Drive’ in the Memo Section. All donations will be divided among local food banks

Ashe Really Cares is in need of donations to help those in need by: A Donation of $25 will feed a family with food worth $400; A $50 Donation will provide 25 Emergency Food Boxes; $100 will help prevent electric shutoff or 15 gallons of kerosene. They also welcome clothing, shoes & boots, household items & non-perishables.
