NC Fried Apple Pie Festival In Sparta

Sharpen up those taste buds and head to Sparta, NC, for the Second Annual Fried Apple Pie Festival. 

This unique event focuses on an Appalachian tradition of taking dried apples from the previous year’s harvest and turning it into a delicious fried apple pie. Although, their secret recipe remains unknown to most, it’s still scrumptious this day in time. 

The festival takes place Saturday, May 4th from 10a-5p at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds in Sparta (1375 US 21N). 

Over 10k fried apple pies will be available to purchase, LIVE music, a fried pie eating contest, fried pie baking contest, kids activities, arts & crafts vendors, and loads of great festival food. 

Admission & parking are free. However, donations are being taken for our parking volunteers. Plus, a free shuttle service will be available from Downtown Sparta to the fairgrounds.
