Deputies Stop Over a Quarter Pound of Meth Entering into Ashe County

 

 

Creston – Sheriff B.Phil Howell announces the arrest of 43-year-old Robert Lee Robinson Jr. from Rutherford College, NC. Robinson was arrested on an outstanding warrant and subsequently charged with 2 Felony counts of Traffick in Methamphetamine.

On January 22nd, 2024, Sheriff Deputy Cody Call was performing routine traffic stops on NC HWY 88 W in Creston. Deputy Call initiated a traffic stop on Robinson’s vehicle, and the Ashe County 911 Dispatch confirmed that Robinson had an outstanding warrant from Caldwell County for larceny. While performing a pat down search, deputies located a sock with a large amount of a crystal substance, later identified as Methamphetamine. The substance will be sent to the NCSBI lab for further testing.

Deputies seized approximately 114 grams of Methamphetamine, which is around a quarter of a pound. Deputies transported Robinson to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.

Robert Lee Robinson, 43, of Rutherford College, was booked and is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $250,000 secure bond. Charges include:

• Outstanding Warrant (Larceny) from Caldwell County –

• Two Counts of Felony Trafficking in Methamphetamine
