The Ashe Humane Society is accepting applications for its low-cost spay/neuter program for Ashe County residents. Available spots left for June 24th are: (3 Friendly Female Cats); (7 Friendly Male Cats); & (1 Feral Cat). Cats must be 3 months old and weigh 3-lbs. or more. The Ashe County Volunteer Initiative is having their Annual Shoes for Kids Drive now, thru July 17th accepting monetary donations only. Hope Thru a Vision Homeless Shelter is having a Pork BBQ Fundraiser at Lansing Fire Dept. Saturday, June 27th @ 11am until sold out. Meals are $12 & include BBQ, baked beans, slaw, dessert & drink. Funds will provide shelter for those in need due to inclement weather or emergency situations
