Ashe Parents Charged with Child Abuse
Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of a 25-year-old Angel Faith Greene and 27-year-old Tyler Steven Greene, both of Fleetwood, NC, following a joint child abuse investigation.

On June 3rd 2026, Ashe County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Brenner’s Children Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC, regarding the suspected abuse of an Ashe County minor.

The warrant states: “On or about the date of offense shown and, in the county, named above the defendant unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously did intentionally inflict, intentionally commit an assault that resulted in serious physical injury, 4 broken ribs and subarachnoid hemorrhage, right flank hematoma, pattern bruising, diffuse bruising, petechiae, on G.G., who was 3 months years old and thus under 16 years of age. At the time the defendant inflicted the injury, the defendant was the child’s parent.”

The individuals were arrested on June 8th, 2026, without incident, transported to the Ashe County Detention Center, and placed under No Bond. In North Carolina, a no-bond means a judge has ordered that the arrested individual must remain in custody until the case is resolved or a new bond hearing is held.

No further information regarding the condition of the minor or the specific nature of the abuse is being released at this time to protect the privacy of the minor. This investigation is still ongoing, with further charges possible.

On June 10th, 2026, both individuals appeared for their 1st court appearance before a judge and received a $250,000 bond. Both individuals are still in custody at this time.
Angel Faith Greene, 25 of Fleetwood, was arrested and is being held at the Ashe County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond, but was brought in on a no bond.
