Fentanyl Dealer Convicted in North Carolina; Sentenced to 15+ Years in Prison
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A drug dealer will serve more than a decade in federal prison after being convicted of selling fentanyl in North Carolina. According to federal prosecutors, Keavin Jawahn Thompson was identified as a large-scale fentanyl dealer operating across eastern North Carolina in 2020. Two years later, in 2022, law enforcement conducted five purchases of fentanyl from Thompson.
11,000 fentanyl pills seized in North Carolina drug bust
Following the purchases, according to federal prosecutors, law enforcement executed search warrants at two homes in Fayetteville used as drug stash houses. They found 840 grams of fentanyl, 642 grams of para‑fluorofentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, and meth. Packaging materials, a digital scale, and a cutting agent used to prepare narcotics for distribution were also discovered.
Federal prosecutors said Thompson, 42, pleaded guilty this year to conspiracy to distribute 400 grams of fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and 100 grams or more of para‑fluorofentanyl. He was sentenced to 15 and a half years in federal prison.
