High Country Association of REALTORS® presents VIP Movie Night: Dirty Dancing
Second annual fundraiser benefits Hospitality House of Northwest N.C.
BOONE, N.C. – (August 24, 2026): The High Country Association of REALTORS® invites you to have the time of your life at a screening of the 1987 crowd-pleasing hit film Dirty Dancing. Taking place Thursday September 7, 7:00 p.m. at the historic Appalchian Theatre of the High Country in downtown Boone, the event serves as a benefit for Hospitality House of Northwest N.C. and a VIP experience for local realtor sponsors, their brokers and clients.
General admission is free; however, due to the popularity and cult status of the film guests are asked to reserve a ticket online at https://www.apptheatre.org/events-and-tickets/dirty-dancing-hh. While general admission is free, donations will be encouraged at the door via cash, check, QR code, or online. Also, guests are asked to arrive early if they wish to purchase concessions, as films at the Appalachian Theatre are shown without previews and start promptly at the scheduled time.

The concept for this event was conceived in 2024 by Lisa Brown of Guild Mortgage after she connected with the agency’s executive director Tina B. Krause. Last year it was a pajama party and film screening of the 1978 classic Grease.
Krause remembers, “When Lisa and I first met in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, our Watauga Housing Outreach Center was filled with supplies and wet floors as we sat around the table together. Lisa shared about her ‘Make A Local Impact’ initiative of gifting a blanket to every new homeowner and another to our agency. We both quickly realized how much our work overlaps with the real estate industry as we share the mission of helping people find a home.” Continues Krause, “I am grateful for Lisa’s heart and how she has rallied behind this work in our community to ensure that everyone has a safe and warm place to live.”
“As housing professionals, we understand that a home is more than four walls and a roof. It is security, stability, and opportunity. While we are fortunate to help families achieve homeownership, we also recognize the reality that some members of our community face temporary homelessness and housing instability,” Brown added.
A pre-screening party for VIP sponsors will take place upstairs in the Mast General Store Community Room beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will include heavy appetizers, a private bar, and personal photo opportunity. VIP sponsors include Realty One Group Results; Coldwell Banker Summit, Regency Properties, John Heinlein, Echota / Rob Garrent Foscoe Realty, Ivester Jackson Christie’s International Real Estate, Lisa Brown – Guild Mortgage, and Keller Williams High Country.
Continues Brown, “Movie Night is our opportunity to raise awareness and support for those in need of housing assistance. By coming together as a community, we celebrate the power of home while helping provide hope, shelter, and support to our neighbors during difficult times. Every ticket, sponsorship, and donation helps make a difference. Together, we can ensure that more people have a path toward a safe place to call home.”
Sponsorships at the “Time of My Life” level are sold out. However, a few sponsorships at the $500 “Hungry Eyes” level are still available and include a personalized VIP party guest list for five and five drink tickets.
