NEW ORLEANS – App State women’s soccer freshman Hayley Boyles (Wake Forest, N.C./Heritage) was named the Sun Belt’s Offensive Athlete of the Week award, the league announced on Tuesday.
Boyles is the first freshman in the league to garner the weekly award and the first Mountaineer to be recognized by the conference.

there are more exciting days to come and look forward to opening conference play at home this weekend.
The Wake Forest, N.C. native had her best performance in a Black and Gold uniform in the 2-1 win over FIU on Friday. Boyles assisted on the match-tying goal in the second half to Hulda Agustsdottir (Husavik, Iceland/Völsungur) and later tallied her first game-winning goal in the 80th minute that gave App the lead, helping the Apps stay undefeated at home with a 2-0-1 mark.
Through seven matches, Boyles is second on the team with a pair of goals and five points. She’ll look to help App keep the momentum going with back-to-back home matches this weekend. App State faces Troy to open Sun Belt play on Friday at 7 p.m. before hosting Wofford on Sunday at 1 p.m.
