Meet the Coordinator for WCC’s

Access to Achievement Program

 

Wilkesboro, N.C. – Wilkes Community College (WCC) is proud to support the Access to Achievement initiative, a program launched by the North Carolina Community College System in 2023 to expand opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The program equips students with the skills and knowledge necessary for workforce success by promoting vocational training, financial counseling, and access to credential, diploma, and degree programs. Additionally, it fosters inclusive environments across community colleges in North Carolina.

WCC was selected as one of 15 community colleges in the state to receive funding for this initiative, demonstrating its commitment to accessibility and student success.

To further this mission, WCC has welcomed Holly Sagraves as the Access to Achievement Coordinator. Holly is dedicated to guide students through their academic journey, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to reach their educational and career goals. She provides assistance with:

  • Enrollment and residency applications
  • Transcript requests
  • FAFSA and financial aid support
  • Academic pathway selection
  • Instructor communication support
  • Referrals for accommodations
  • Employment support through programs like Employment and Independence for
  • Employment support through programs like Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (formerly Vocational Rehab)
