Porter was named Sun Belt Setter of the Week for the third time this season, while Spicer earned Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week accolades.
Porter earns her third Sun Belt Setter of the Week honor, after winning the award twice in September.
In a pair of sweeps this weekend, Porter dished out 81 assists (13.5 a/s), while adding seven kills and 15 digs.
In a win on Friday over Georgia State, she dished out 39 assists (13.0 a/s) to go along with three kills, eight digs and two blocks. She followed that up with a 42-assist (14.0 a/s), four-kill and seven-dig effort in a win over Georgia Southern on Friday.
She currently leads the Sun Belt in assists average at 10.78 assists per set.
Spicer earns her first Sun Belt Player of the Week honor.
In a pair of Mountaineer sweeps this weekend, Spicer posted 26 kills (4.33 k/s) on a sizzling .477 hitting mark. She added six blocks and four service aces.
On Friday, she tallied 11 kills, against just two errors on 17 attempts, for a .529 hitting percentage as the Mountaineers swept past Georgia State. She also notched three services aces in the win.
Spicer followed with 15 kills and a .444 hitting mark, while adding four blocks in an App State sweep of Georgia Southern.
On the season, Spicer ranks second on the team in total kill (249) and kills per set (2.71). In addition, she sits second on the team with a .293 hitting mark and 33 service aces (0.33 sa/s). On defense, she leads the team with 91 total blocks (24 block solo, 67 block assists).
Appalachian State stands at 19-7 on the season and 11-3 in Sun Belt play. The Mountaineers lead the Sun Belt East Division and can clinch the division title and a double bye in the upcoming Sun Belt Tournament with one win or one Coastal Carolina loss this weekend. The Black and Gold play at Troy on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. EST, followed by a 1:30 p.m. EST contest at South Alabama on Sunday.
