BOONE, N.C. — For the second straight week, Appalachian State volleyball setter Becky Porter has been named Sun Belt Setter of the Week.

Porter becomes the first Mountaineer to win Sun Belt Setter of the Week honors in back-to-back week since Paige Brown did so in September of the 2015 season.

In three matches over the weekend, she averaged 10.67 assists per set, helping the Black and Gold go 2-1 at the N.C. State/Campbell Tournament.

On Friday against Utah Valley, Porter dished out a career-high 62 assists, to go along with nine digs and six kills. On Saturday, she posted her second double-double of the season with a 38-assist, 11-dig effort in a 3-1 win over Wright State. She added 28 assists, eight digs and four service aces in a sweep of Campbell to close out the tournament on Saturday.

On the season, Porter ranks second in the Sun Belt in assists per set (10.22) and third in overall assists (327).

Appalachian State, who stands at 6-3 on the season, will play again on Tuesday at East Tennessee State at 6 p.m.
