BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State volleyball setter Becky Porter has been named Sun Belt Co-Setter of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
This marks the first Sun Belt Player of the Week honor for Porter.
In three matches over the weekend at the Appalachian Invitational, Porter posted 124 assists (11.27 a/s), while adding 13 kills and 21 digs.
In a straight set victory over Davidson on Friday, she tallied a match-high 37 assists (12.33 a/s), five kills and seven digs. She followed that up with a double-double against Clemson on Saturday with 54 assists (10.8 a/s) and 10 digs. She concluded the tournament with 33 assists (11.00 a/s) against Mississippi State.
On the season, Porter ranks second in the Sun Belt in totals assists (195) and assist average (9.95 a/s).
The Mountaineers stand at 4-2 on the season and will continue play at the N.C. State/Campbell Invitational on Friday and Saturday. App State will take on Utah Valley at N.C. State on Friday at 11 a.m. and play twice on Saturday at Campbell versus Wright State at 2 p.m. and Campbell at 6 p.m.
