Traffic Stop Ends with 2 Arrests
Jefferson N.C. – Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 44-year-old Scotty Joe Johnson from Mountain City, TN, and 45-year-old Lisa Renee Frazier from Littleton, NC, for possession of Methamphetamine.
On February 10th, 2025, Ashe County Sheriff’s Deputy Sgt. Chris Green was patrolling the Jefferson area when he noticed a vehicle in a traffic violation. Green initiated a traffic stop, which led to an investigation. Sheriff Deputies Brandon Wingler & Lee Johnson arrived on the
scene with K9 Deputy Condor. Due to the traffic stop circumstances, a K9 Condor was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle with a positive alert on the vehicle. After searching the vehicle and persons, deputies located around 15 grams of a crystal substance, later identified as Methamphetamine. The substance will be sent to the NCSBI lab for further testing.
Scotty Johnson and Lisa Frazier were placed under arrest and transported to the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office without further
incident. Lisa Renee Frazier, age 45, of Littleton, N.C., was placed under a $40,000 secured bond. Her charges include:
• Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
Scotty Joe Johnson, age 44, of Mountain City T.N., was placed
under a $35,000 secured bond and later released. His charges
include:
• Felony Possession of Methamphetamine
• Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
