Town of West Jefferson Announces New Town Attorney

 

 

Mayor Dale Baldwin and the Board of Aldermen are pleased to announce that John Benjamin “Jak” Reeves has been hired as the new town attorney effective immediately.

 

Mr. Reeves was raised in West Jefferson. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina and graduated from Campbell Law School in 2004. He was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 2004 and licensed to practice law in Tennessee in 2012. He is a partner with Reeves DiVenere Wright who has offices in West Jefferson and Boone. He has served for 14 years as town attorney for the Town of Lansing. Mr. Reeves will continue to serve Lansing as well as focus on his private practice while working with the Town of West Jefferson. Mr. Reeves’ former partner and father, Jimmy Reeves, served as town attorney for West Jefferson from 1973 until 2009.
