April 1, 2025Thrifts & Gifts Supporting AMOREM welcomes thrift store coordinator
VALDESE- AMOREM’s Thrifts & Gifts on Main Street in Valdese welcomes Ethan Patlan as its new thrift store coordinator.
“Ethan brings retail experience, energy and enthusiasm for AMOREM’s mission to the role of thrift store coordinator,” says Director of Development Ashley Edwards. “The team is excited to welcome him as the leader who will be an ambassador of AMOREM in the community and aid in elevating the impactful work of Thrifts & Gifts.”
Patlan comes to Thrifts & Gifts with 5 years of retail experience from Target and Lowe’s. This experience allows Patlan to understand retail operations, customer service, brand promotion, community engagement and collaboration with various AMOREM teams. Patlan is currently pursuing an associate in arts degree from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.
In his new role, Patlan will oversee thrift store operations, support volunteers and staff at the store and ensure that the thrift store serves as an ambassador of the AMOREM community. Patlan will also ensure that Thrifts & Gifts will continue to support AMOREM’s mission to provide quality, thoughtful, loving care to patients and support to their families.
The Thrifts & Gifts team is made up of associates and AMOREM volunteers who each have a passion for supporting the needs of hospice patients in their community. Mission-driven volunteers play a large role in processing donations, assisting customers, stocking the store and much more. This opportunity is available for adult volunteers and VolunTEENs.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting the team of volunteers and staff at the store,” says Patlan. “I look forward to growing this team and onboarding more community members to volunteer for an impactful mission through engaging work.”
Patlan will maintain a close collaboration with AMOREM’s director of development, the community engagement team and the volunteer services team to elevate the store’s support in AMOREM’s mission, create connective community events at the store and onboard volunteers to support the thrift store.
“I am really excited to join the Thrifts & Gifts team,” says Patlan. “I really look forward to meeting the community of customers and ensuring that they have a great experience and walk into a welcoming environment each time that they shop with us!”
