Social Work Month

Social Work Month shines spotlight on profession of hope  AMOREM, along with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), proudly
celebrates one of the nation’s largest professions. March is National Social Work Month and this year’s theme, “Social Workers: Uplift, Defend, Transform,” highlights the profession & #39;s core mission to enhance human well-being, meet basic needs and empower vulnerable populations, especially during challenging times of economic, political and societal division.

Social workers honor diversity and the unique experiences and needs of each individual. The role of the hospice social worker is to provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families as they cope with the challenges of dealing with a terminal illness.

Hospice social workers can provide information regarding community resources and offer assistance related to advance directives, financial and legal needs. Social workers can provide advocacy and facilitate communication and assist with crisis management. “AMOREM proudly extends our appreciation for the professional contributions of our medical social work staff,” says April Moore, CEO. “They play an essential role on our interdisciplinary team.”

Please join us in thanking these valuable members of the AMOREM team, as well as all the social workers who serve throughout our nation.

AMOREM is proud to be your local, non-profit hospice and palliative medicine provider.
