Operation Medicine Drop – Dispose of Your Unused, Expired Prescriptions
Take-back event offers public safe, secure way to dispose of their medications.

WHO: Ashe County Sheriff’s Office, West Jefferson Police Department, Ashe
County Safe Kids, Ashe Medics, Ashe Services for Aging

WHAT: Prescription drug take-back event where you can safely dispose of
your expired, unused prescription drugs or over-the-counter
medications and keep them out of the wrong hands. Operation
Medicine Drop cannot accept biohazard materials.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 27th 2019
9:00 am – 1:00 pm

WHERE: Ashe Services for Aging

WHY: Unintentional poisoning from prescription medications is on the rise
in North Carolina – every year many people die from prescription
poisoning. Operation Medicine Drop offers the public a free and
convenient option for disposing of their prescription and over-thecounter
medications to protect their families and the environment.

are taking these drugs off our streets and out of our rivers in the betterment of Ashe
County”.
