Progressive Politicians Named in Leaked DHS Memo

The Department of Homeland Security has identified multiple progressive politicians who consistently choose to defend illegal immigrants over American citizens in a recently leaked internal memo. The document specifically names several high-profile Democrats, including Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, Chris Murphy, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Maxine Waters, and Norma Torres. According to the memo, these politicians have repeatedly undermined law enforcement efforts to detain and deport dangerous illegal aliens, putting American lives at risk while advocating for those who have violated our nation’s immigration laws.

The memo presents damning evidence that these politicians have blamed lawless protests against immigration enforcement on ICE rather than the violent protesters themselves. This pattern of behavior demonstrates a concerning trend where elected officials are siding with, as the memo states, “foreign nationals invading America” instead of standing with law enforcement officers who risk their lives daily to protect American communities from criminal aliens who should never have been in the country in the first place.

FBI reveals new details on Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal

One of the most disastrous aspects of the last administration took place only months after Joe Biden moved into the White House.

Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal was rushed and disorganized, and it wound up leaving more than 1,000 American citizens abandoned behind enemy lines as well as costing 13 troops their lives.

The media and the administration whitewashed the entire incident, but now Kash Patel’s FBI is setting the record straight.

The vetting

Another major problem with the withdrawal was the lack of real-time vetting regarding who the U.S. was helping to leave the beleaguered country.

For instance, we recently learned that the dozens of people evacuated from Afghanistan who were either on the terror watch list or would be placed on the list were among those permitted to come to the country.

The report stated, “As with any population entering the United States, it is the responsibility of the U.S. government to ensure those seeking entry do not pose a national security or public safety risk.”

It went on, “However, according to the FBI, during [Operation Allies Refuge] and [Operation Allies Welcome], the normal processes required to determine whether individuals posed a threat to national security and public safety were overtaken by the need to immediately evacuate and protect the lives of Afghans, increasing the potential that bad actors could try to exploit the expedited evacuation.”

This is in contrast to the approach taken by then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, who refused to cooperate with Congress regarding the issue of vetting.

According to the report, there were 55 individuals who were or would wind up on the terror watch list that were passed through to the United States during Operation Allies Refuge.

This is in contrast to the approach taken by then-FBI Director Christopher Wray, who refused to cooperate with Congress regarding the issue of vetting.

While the report did not lay complete blame at the feet of the FBI, it did not hold back on its claims that vetting procedures were tossed out the window in the name of expediency.

According to the report, there were 55 individuals who were or would wind up on the terror watch list that were passed through to the United States during Operation Allies Refuge.

Grassley added, “As if it wasn’t already obvious, the Biden-Harris administration endangered American lives by allowing suspected terrorists to enter the United States and roam free for years. My oversight of this matter will continue.”

I think it is great that we are finally getting to the bottom of all this, but I still want to know when people who were involved will be held accountable.

We are talking issues of national security and when it comes to our military leaders who were calling the shots, gross negligence on their part.

I want heads on platters, and until we see that, this is nothing more than talk.

Policy Priority of Treasurer Brad Briner Signed into Law

(Raleigh, N.C.) — State Treasurer Brad Briner’s effort to modernize and improve North Carolina’s investment strategy became law today. In a ceremony this morning at the executive mansion, the 2025 Investment Modernization Act was signed by Gov. Josh Stein. The landmark reforms in the legislation, House Bill 506, will shift sole responsibility of the investment decisions of the state pension plan from the treasurer to a newly created, multi-member Investment Authority tasked with increasing investment returns.

“North Carolinians deserve to know that their pension fund is working as hard for them as they worked for their state,” said Treasurer Briner. “The reforms signed into law today will put us on a path to maximizing returns and I am honored this was not only a top priority of mine – but that leaders on both sides of the aisle share our vision of strengthening the pension fund.”

He thanked Sens. Ralph Hise, David Craven and Michael Lee, and Reps. Brenden Jones, Kyle Hall, Stephen Ross and Steve Tyson, primary sponsors of the act, for helping to guide the bill to passage in their respective chambers. The lawmakers were invited to the bill signing at the executive mansion along with members of the Department of State Treasurer’s Investment Advisory Committee and internal staff who worked on the bill.

North Carolina was one of only three states with a sole fiduciary governance model, conferring decision-making authority onto the treasurer. Treasurer Briner made restructuring of the portfolio’s management a key priority for his administration, even though it scales back his power.

Gov. Josh Stein said he is confident Treasurer Briner is steering state investments in the right direction as sole fiduciary but applauds the Treasurer’s vision to restructure the process. He said, “This process will be stronger when more voices are involved.”

The five-member Investment Authority Board of Directors, chaired by Treasurer Briner, will be comprised of financial professionals appointed by the treasurer, legislative leaders and the governor. The board will rebalance asset allocation and identify strategies to improve the performance and returns of the $127 billion pension plan, which has underperformed for years.

CDC Trust Crisis — Kennedy Plan Sparks Uproar

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has fired all 17 members of the CDC’s vaccine advisory committee, citing deep-rooted conflicts of interest that have transformed the panel into “little more than a rubber stamp” for pharmaceutical interests.

Key Takeaways
  • Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has removed all 17 members of the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), claiming persistent conflicts of interest have compromised their objectivity.
  • The committee, established in 1964, plays a crucial role in determining vaccine recommendations that influence national health policy and insurance coverage.
  • Kennedy aims to restore public trust in vaccine science through this overhaul, with new committee members set to meet from June 25-27 at CDC headquarters.
Restoring Public Trust or Undermining Public Health?

Kennedy has framed his decision as essential for rebuilding public confidence in vaccine science and eliminating corruption from the approval process. His concerns center on what he describes as the committee’s failure to provide proper scrutiny of vaccines, particularly those administered to vulnerable populations. “It has never recommended against a vaccine–even those later withdrawn for safety reasons. It has failed to scrutinize vaccine products given to babies and pregnant women,” Kennedy asserted in his statement.

“A clean sweep is necessary to reestablish public confidence in vaccine science, ACIP new members will prioritize public health and evidence-based medicine. The Committee will no longer function as a rubber stamp for industry profit-taking agendas,” Kennedy said.

One Year in Jail? TRUMP Drops Bombshell

President Trump has proposed a mandatory one-year jail sentence for burning the American flag, directly challenging a long-standing Supreme Court decision that protects such acts under the First Amendment.

Key Takeaways
  • President Trump announced plans to work with senators to implement a one-year jail sentence for burning the American flag
  • The proposal comes amid ongoing anti-ICE protests in major cities where flag burning has occurred
  • The Supreme Court’s 1989 Texas v. Johnson ruling established flag burning as protected symbolic speech
  • Trump deployed 4,100 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to protect federal officials conducting deportation operations
  • Trump suggested California Governor Gavin Newsom could potentially face charges for obstructing ICE operations
  • “They proudly carry flags of other countries, but they don’t carry the American flag. They only burn it,” said President Donald TrumpThe President further committed to this position by stating, “People that burn the American flag should go to jail for one year. And we’ll see if we can get that done.” Trump revealed he is already collaborating with several senators, including Missouri GOP Senator Josh Hawley, to advance legislation that would criminalize flag burning. This marks a significant policy initiative that will likely face constitutional challenges given current Supreme Court precedent.
Senate Sends ICE Bill to Stein for Approval

North Carolina’s GOP-controlled Senate approved Senate Bill 153 on Tuesday, which requires the State Bureau of Investigation, State Highway Patrol, and North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials. The measure now goes to Democratic Gov. Josh Stein, who has yet to veto a bill.

SB153 requires the aforementioned state agencies to enter into agreements with ICE and ensure that employees are trained to identify individuals in custody who are in the country illegally. The bill also bars illegal immigrants from accessing state benefits and allows lawsuits against sanctuary jurisdictions.

Also on Tuesday, the Senate passed House Bill 318, which expands requirements for sheriff’s offices statewide to comply with ICE detainers. That bill is headed back to the House for further discussion.

The legislative measures were voted on the same day President Trump deployed National Guard troops to Los Angeles amid protests over federal immigration arrests.

Article Icon 1ICE Protests Pop Up Across NC

As the North Carolina General Assembly advanced bills to expand cooperation with ICE, at least 25 protests opposing ICE immigration arrests erupted nationwide this week, including several in North Carolina.

Protesters gathered in Raleigh and Charlotte on Monday and Tuesday in response to immigration raids and the use of federal force against protesters in Los Angeles. More protests are scheduled for Saturday in Charlotte, Monroe, Concord, Waxhaw, and Rock Hill.

Around 300 protesters gathered in Asheville’s Pack Square on Monday, despite heavy rain across Buncombe County.

Last week, Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller disputed North Carolina U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis’ recent labeling of the county as a “sanctuary jurisdiction,” stating his office complies with state law HB10, which requires cooperation with ICE when certain criminal charges are involved.
