Musical Acts Announced for 2019 Christmas in July Festival



West Jefferson, NC – The music lineup for the 2019 Christmas in July Festival in Downtown
West Jefferson has been confirmed with many favorites once again returning to
perform at the annual event, as well as some new performers making their festival
debut this year. The festival has once again lined up a great variety of local & regional
musical acts featuring a great mix ranging from traditional bluegrass to “newgrass,”
country to classic rock hits, and a few other surprises sprinkled in which will surely
entertain people of all ages!

Live music is scheduled to begin during the afternoon of Friday, July 5th at 3pm until
10pm during the festival kick-off event of music, food vendors, farmers market & street
dance! Musical acts slated to perform on the afternoon & evening of Friday, July 5th

3-4:30 pm Alex Key & The Locksmiths

5-6 pm Restless

6:30-8:00 pm The Lucky Strikes

8:30-10 pm Blue Country

The music will continue all day Saturday, July 6th from 9am until 7pm when the full
festival is open and also includes arts and craft vendors, food vendors, non-profits, street
performers, children’s activities, community stage, farmers market & historical war
re-enactments in the West Jefferson Park. Musical acts slated to perform on Saturday,

The 2019 Festival “run-down”

The 33rd Annual Christmas in July Festival will be held in Downtown West Jefferson, NC
(rain or shine) on Saturday, July 6th, 2019 from 9am-7pm. The festival’s offerings will not
only include great live music featuring from talented performers throughout the region,
but also a variety of over 100 handmade arts & crafts vendors, numerous food vendors,
children’s activities, local and regional non-profits and the Ashe County Farmers Market.
Further, the festival Community Stage will represent talent from local community groups
& individuals to include dancing, clogging, singing and playing music. Street performers
will be roving the crowd showcasing talents such as magic, juggling, stilt walking,
uni-cycling, and balloon art. Straight from the North Pole, Santa & Mrs. Claus plan to
attend the festival as well!

Furthermore, the annual historical war re-enactment group plans to set up throughout
the duration of the festival at the West Jefferson Municipal Park.

Ashe County Christmas tree farmers are invited to join the “People’s Choice Favorite
Christmas Tree” competition and enter their best-looking tree for festival goers to view &
vote on. The tree farmer(s) voted as the People’s Choice winners will win prize money
and have the official bragging rights for one year with a trophy & presence on the

Come early, Friday, July 5 th (rain or shine), for early festival kickoff events including live
music from 3-10pm, food vendors from 4-10pm and a special Farmers Market from
4-8pm. A special opening ceremony is planned for 6pm at the main stage with special
guests to officially kick off the festival.

About the Festival

The Christmas in July Festival began in 1987 to showcase the Ashe County Christmas
Tree Industry & its importance on a regional (and national) scale. Over the years, the
festival has still held on to its heritage of recognizing & honoring the Ashe County
Christmas Tree Industry while also incorporating talented musicians, artisans, food & fun
activities into the event. The Christmas in July Festival is identified as a 501c(3) non-profit
organization by the IRS and its board of directors & committee members are entirely
comprised of unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly most of the year to put on a fun,
safe, family-friendly event for the entire community while also attracting visitors to Ashe
