MISSING PERSON

Jefferson, N.C. – The Ashe County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your help in locating a missing person. On the evening of August 10th, 2025, Steven Wayne Lecount was reported missing from the Lansing area.

Steven had wandered away from his home around 2:00 pm on August 10th, 2025. He was last seen on Howell Rd in Lansing, NC. Mr. Lecount has a head injury, which has caused him to have impaired speech and cognitive abilities of a child. He is very friendly and will answer to Steve, but may not respond.

• Height: 5’8
• Weight: 170 lb.
• Last seen: Howell Rd. Lansing
• Last known clothing: Camouflage shorts, white T-shirt with some sort of graphic on the front, and work boots.
• Reported Missing: August 10th, 2025
