MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — App State Men’s Golf made its fall debut under new head coach John Michael Cole, with Rob Bergevin leading the way for the Mountaineers at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate that concluded Tuesday.
Playing as an individual, Bergevin posted a 2-over total (73-72-73—218). Ben Read, with a 2-under 70 in the final round, and Alex Martin, highlighted by a 1-under 71 in the second round, finished at 3 over.
The Mountaineers placed 14th in the 16-team field at 18 over (303-287-292—882).
Herman Huus closed with a pair of 73s to finish at 5 over, and graduate student Max Cranford had a second-round 74 in his App State debut before finishing at 11 over.
Cole Bergheim, a redshirt junior who missed last season due to injury, shot a career-best 70 (2 under) in the second round and finished at 12 over.
FAU won the event at 26 under, and Coastal Carolina’s Jack Lee was the medalist at 14 under.
The 2025-26 season is presented by Hound Ears Club. App State resumes play Sept. 2 at the Temple Invitational in Philadelphia.
