BOONE, N.C. – With a deep tradition that has spanned over the course of a century, Appalachian State men’s basketball will celebrate its 100th anniversary during the upcoming 2019-20 season.
A commemorative 100th anniversary logo has been unveiled to honor the season and will be featured prominently throughout the program.
The program will hold a basketball jersey auction closer to the start of the season, with jerseys of different colors and from different eras open for bidding. More information regarding the auction will be released at a later date.
Throughout the season, promotions and in-game activities will honor the anniversary, including Alumni Weekend, which will be announced at a later date.

Basketball has been a staple in Boone and began with the first season in 1919-20 with a meeting against Lenoir-Rhyne.
During the first century of play, the Mountaineers have posted more than 1,200 victories and own a .518 winning percentage.
In its history, App State has captured 17 conference titles. The Black and Gold won the Carolinas Conference championship seven times (1930-31, 1939-40, 1940-41, 1942-43, 1947-48, 1949-50 and 1966-67) and the Southern Conference 10 times (1977-78, 1978-79, 1980-81, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2009-10).
The Mountaineers have made two appearances in the NCAA Tournament, one in the NIT and one in the CBI.
