The Natural (1984)
A middle-aged unknown comes seemingly out of nowhere taking the baseball world by storm with his
self-made bat. He just might be able to use his almost supernatural talent to help the fictional New York
Knights win the pennant. This 1984 film adaptation of Bernard Malamud’s 1952 novel is directed by
Barry Levinson and stars Robert Redford, Robert Duvall, Wilford Brimley, Kim Basinger and Glenn Close.
