Keep Ashe Beautiful Sponsors America Recycles Day

Ashe County – On November 15, Keep Ashe Beautiful (KAB) sponsors America
Recycles Day with proclamations via the Town of Lansing and the Ashe County
Board of Commissioners in an effort to raise awareness of the importance of
recycling waste. Keep Ashe Beautiful is an Affiliate of Keep America Beautiful,
the national organization.

Keep Ashe Beautiful will participate in the West Jefferson parade on Saturday,
Nov 16 featuring our “Recycle puppet and Bag Man” and all sorts of REduce,
REcycle, and REuse materials for reducing waste into our landfills. Additionally,
each of the schools will be proclaiming America Recycles Day in support of the
national effort to ensure area students are aware of ways they can reduce waste
in our landfills.

The town of Lansing Alderman signed a proclamation to recognize Nov 15 as a
local event to support America Recycles Day in Lansing; and the Ashe County
Commissioners are signing a proclamation for Ashe County on Nov 19 to support
America Recycles Day.

KAB works with volunteers who take action in their communities to transform
public spaces into beautiful places. Through programs and public-private
partnerships, individuals are engaged to help make their community cleaner,
greener and a more beautiful place to live. We encourage individuals and
families to make a pledge to reduce use of single use products/containers and
increase their recyclables to further help in the management of our planet.
