Ashe county was at home on Wednesday against West Wilkes, Alexander Central, Avery, Johnson County, and Freedom.
We had a lot of personal best performances at our first home meet of the season. They are as follows:
Alexis Rollins in Long Jump
Ian Graybeal in Long Jump
Richie Cliff in Pole vault winning the event
Dakota Peterman, Lanie Bowers, Chloe Henson, and Abby Miller all set PRs in Discus and placed 1st-4th in that order.
Natalie Carpenter in Discus
Jude Tilley in Shot Put and Discus, placing 3rd in Discus
Sam Hess in Shot Put and Discus
Caroline Parsons in the 100m, 200m, and 400m
Kolter Rollins in the 100m
Pablo Barcenas in the 100m
Sam Pyles in the 1600m and 800m
Will Russel in the 400m
Gael Guijosa in the 400m
Garrett Oller in the 800m
Carlos Araujo in the 800m
Josie Franca and Emory Taylor in the 800m placing 1st and 2nd respectively.
Evie Pyles in the 800m
Lorali Overcash in the 200m
Junior Barcenas in the 200m
Eric Perez-Denza in the 200m
Other notable performances include:
Sawyer Greene placing 1st in the 110m hurdles
Ian Graybeal and Sawyer Greene placing 1st and 2nd in the High Jump respectively.
Evie Pyles won the 1600m and Emily Lewis placed 2nd
the Girls 4×800 and 4x100m relay teams both came away with victories.
Athletes also traveled to AC Reynolds on Saturday for a highly competitive invitational meet.

Tallan Kingsley in the 100m and 200m
Owen Roten in the 800m
Sawyer Greene in the High Jump placing 3rd
Ian Graybeal in the Long Jump
Emory Taylor in the 3200m
Audrey Satterwhite in the 800m
Natalie Carpenter in the Shot Put.
Sawyer Greene also placed 3rd in the 110m Hurdles
Gracie finley won the Pole Vault.
Ashe county track team will travel to Hibriten on Monday 4/7 for the annual CW Porter Relays. We will then be at home again on Wednesday the 9th where we will have a special recognition of our Seniors after the conclusion of the 1600m run.
