High Country Rodeo Association

For those of you that don’t know who we are, we are the High Country Rodeo Association! We were founded to provide our community and our youth the opportunity to experience the western lifestyle many of us deeply treasure and cherish. There was a time when locals and visitors flocked to local arenas to compete or simply enjoy a rodeo. Unfortunately, over the last ten years we have had to travel many hours to live that life we adore. Riding, roping, responsibility of livestock, dedication, determination, failure, success, and the thrilling experience of an eight second bull ride is just a fraction of what rodeo and the western lifestyle has to offer. Most importantly it offers FAMILY.

As a Non-Profit Organization, we have sought out to provide this community with a family focused environment that is appropriate for all ages.  Gathering up the best –  we provide social meetings, an assortment of clinics, and camps for kids.  Our mission is to teach children and adults what it is to be a Cowboy or Cowgirl. Offering training and guidance in all areas of rodeo such as horsemanship, riding, roping, tying, barrel racing, pole bending, bull riding, steer wrestling, and chute doggin’. We are even in the preparation stages of planning our second full rodeo season, but we do not restrict ourselves to just rodeo events. We provide clinics on basic animal care that are taught by local Livestock and Equine Veterinarians. Other clinics include equipment safety, and even horsemanship training.

We are so proud to announce that we have officially set up home for this season here in the High Country! All of our rodeos will be held right here in West Jefferson. We have a total of 12 full rodeos this year, and so much more! But in order to put on the best of the best we need your help!

We truly believe in the value our Association has in this community and we hope you do as well. We have set our standards high and our goals even higher.
