High Country Performing Arts Academy (HCPAA) Receives Special Recognition

High Country Performing Arts Academy (HCPAA) provides dance and theatre training for youth and adults in Ashe County, NC. All of us are dance students at HCPAA and we recently performed at the Applause Talent Dance Competition in Columbia, SC. As a result of our high-scoring routines– one in tap and one in jazz– the judges awarded both of our groups the distinction of “2024 New York All Star Dancers.” This is a very exciting honor and an incredible opportunity for us. The select dancers who receive this award are invited to attend a six-day training experience in New York City in July 2024. Not only would we be receiving Master Class Sessions with distinguished NYC instructors and choreographers at renowned dance studios in Times Square, we would also be receiving Master Class Sessions with the World-Famous Radio City Music Hall Rockettes. Other aspects of this six-day NYC dance training experience would include accommodations at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in the heart of Times Square, attendance to two Broadway shows, a behind-the-scenes tour of Radio City Music Hall, a three-hour Harbor Cruise, a Dinner and Dance Semi-Formal Cruise, All Star Dancer apparel, and guided tours throughout the city. Needless to say, this would be an unforgettable experience for each of us and we are hopeful that all 20 of the HCPAA dancers who received this award will be able to attend. Our tap group dancers who won this award are Andie Kate Brown, Brynlee Calhoun, Landrey Carpenter, Lucy DeBruhl, Bellamy Eldreth, Everly Flanagan, Charlotte Lambert, Kaiyah Miller, and Kathryn Yates. Our jazz group dancers who won this award are Emery Barr, Macie Beard, Carley Bentley, Callie Goodman, Hadley Goss, Arabella Hanson, Karleigh Holt, Drew Johnson, Alayna Lovell, Jillian Miller, and Melody Pierce.

In order to make it possible for all of us to attend, we will be busy fundraising and seeking sponsorships over the next several months to help offset the cost of this experience. As each dancer is required to be accompanied by a chaperone, the total cost for this six-day experience (travel and meals included) is about $2500 per person, or a combined total of $5000 for a student and her chaperone. High Country Performing Arts Academy has established an account to collect and distribute donations for us, and all of the funds collected will go directly to financing this experience for us. Our goal is to raise enough money to ensure that all 20 of our dancers and their chaperones will be able to experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so we are currently seeking six levels of sponsorship:

Bronze Sponsor – $1 – $999

Silver Sponsor – $1000 – $1999

Gold Sponsor – $2000 – $2999

Platinum Sponsor – $3000 – $3999

Diamond Sponsor – $4000 – $4999

Big Apple Sponsor – $5000 or greater

All sponsors will be personally thanked on all HCPAA social media platforms for helping provide us with this amazing opportunity. HCPAA will also be sure to include any and all information your company would like to additionally convey to the community. All students selected as 2024 New York All Star Dancers must register for this six-day training experience on September 1st, 2023 so we are trying to raise as much funding as possible before that date.
