Hank, Pattie and The Current coming to Wilkesboro on November 8

Heart of Folk, LLC and The Blue Ridge Artisan Center are proud to present Hank, Pattie and The Current in concert.  They will be performing on Friday, November 8th at 8:00PM, doors open at 6:00PM. Hank and the band have been a crowd favorite at Wilkesboro’s annual fall festival, Carolina in the Fall and are excited to be back in Wilkes for an intimate show at The 1915/Blue Ridge Artisan Center in Wilkesboro. Tickets are available online at www.eventbrite.com and at the door.

Bluegrass ambassadors Hank Smith and Pattie Hopkins Kinlaw join forces with their original and energetic new soulgrass band, Hank, Pattie and the Current. Hank and Pattie take traditional bluegrass and infuse it with their own flair, drawing from a melting pot of styles including Latin and Jazz, which adds up to an authentic and unique reflection of American music.  While some of the music sounds old school and some sounds fresh and new, their overall musicianship, vocal harmonies, impassioned delivery and innovative arrangements captivate all generations of music lovers.

Hank and Pattie are backed by an all-star band comprised of North Carolina musicians Jonah Freedman on Bass and vocals, Billie Feather on guitar, and Robert Thornhill on mandolin and vocals.

Local favorites, Wyld Fern will open the show at 7:30 PM. These young folks are lighting up the Bluegrass world with their fresh take on an old genre. Band members include Lake Carver, Brent Wimmer, Owen Combs, and Ettore Buzzini. These young band members have won several fiddlers convention awards this year and Ettore Buzzini was the Bobby Martin Young Songwriters Champion at Carolina in the Fall 2019.

Wilkes, known as the Heart of American Folk Music, is home to some of the nation’s best Americana and Folk musicians. For more information about upcoming Heart of Folk events at The 1915, visit www.the1915.org or like their Facebook page, Heart of Folk.
