FREE PISTOL INSTRUCTION DAY FOR WOMEN

ASHE COUNTY WILDLIFE CLUB WILL SPONSOR a FREE PISTOL INSTRUCTION DAY FOR WOMEN ON SATURDAY, NOV. 12 AT 10:00 A.M.

The Ashe County Wildlife Club at 3220 Big Peak Creek Road, Laurel Springs will hold its Women’s Pistol Instruction Day at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10. This event is free and open to all women. No one has to be a member of the Wildlife Club. The range is about 12 miles east of Jefferson, off N.C. 88 on the way to Sparta. There is no pre-registration.

“All women are invited to come out to our pistol range with their own pistol and ammunition. We will open the morning with basic safety instructions on how to handle a pistol. We will then move to the 10-yard range where each participant will receive individual instruction on shooting at our steel and paper targets,” said Kelly Diamond, chair of the Club’s pistol committee. “As long as the weather is not rainy or cold, we will stay as long as everyone is comfortable handling their pistols and having a good time.”

This event is for women of all shooting skill levels, but is particularly directed at women who are unfamiliar with pistols and who feel they want personal instruction on the safe handling of firearms.
