Sheriff B. Phil Howell reports the arrest of two individuals tied to a breaking and entering call that occurred just after midnight on December 4th, 2018. The third suspect has not been apprehended.
On December 4, 2018 the Ashe County Sheriff’s Office received notification of a breaking and entering in progress in Fleetwood. The homeowner returned home to find one suspect still inside of the residence.
Our patrol deputies Sergeant Chris Green, Aaron Scott and Lee Johnson found the front door had been forced open and a large amount of property already removed from the residence. The alleged suspects had also attempted to open a gun safe by cutting it. One suspect was detained at the scene.
Sheriff’s Office Detectives, led by Det. Will Hicks executed a search warrant in the middle of the night. A large amount of stolen property belonging to the victim was recovered with a value of approximately $2,500. The suspect’s vehicle was also seized with more than $3,300 of the victims’ property recovered from the vehicle. The property was recovered and returned to the victim within nine hours of the original call.
Three suspects were initially charged during the investigation; 39 year old Stephanie Ann Hicks of Jefferson was charged with breaking and entering, 36 year old Charles Andrew Dishman of Jefferson was charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of larceny after breaking and entering and safe cracking.
The third suspect is still at large and has been identified as 31 year old Brandon Clyde Moore of Wilkesboro who is wanted for second-degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering and safe cracking.
