NEW ORLEANS — The Sun Belt Conference, in conjunction with ESPN, announced that App State’s sold-out home football game against Marshall on Saturday, Nov. 4, has been elevated to appear on NFL Network with a kickoff time of 6 p.m. in Boone.
The Mountaineers last played a Saturday night game at Kidd Brewer Stadium in 2014, their first year as an FBS member. That year, they faced Campbell at 6 p.m. in a Sept. 6 home opener that included a lengthy lightning delay before the start of the second half and then played another 6 p.m. home game against South Alabama on Oct. 4.
The App State-Marshall matchup is believed to be the first Saturday night home game played in Boone during the months of November or December.
App State made its first-ever NFL Network appearance this past Saturday when it faced Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. Of the Mountaineers’ first nine games on the 2023 schedule, five will have aired on either ESPN2, the NFL Network, the CBS Sports Network or the ACC Network.
