Domestic Call Results in Subject Transported to Ashe Memorial Hospital

Jefferson, N.C. – Sheriff B. Phil Howell announces the arrest of 49-year-old Lee Allen Shaw of Jefferson, N.C., for assault with a deadly weapon.

On Saturday, May 18th, at approximately 11:15 pm, Ashe County 911 Dispatch received a domestic call involving a gunshot wound. Ashe County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, alongside Jefferson PD, West Jefferson PD, and Ashe County Medics, were dispatched to the scene. The suspect, Lee Shaw, was detained at approximately 11:30 pm. Ashe Medics arrived shortly after and transported the victim to the Ashe Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Deputies arrested and transported Lee Allen Shaw to the Ashe County Detention Center without further incident.

Lee Alle Shaw, 49, of Jefferson, N.C., is currently being held in the Ashe County Detention Center under a No-Bond. (A “No Bond” signifies that a person is NOT ELIGIBLE for release at the time the bond is being set. The individual being charged must remain in custody until the first hearing in front of a judge.)
