Crooked Road Ramblers is the 4th Backstreet Concert on June 28 From the West Jefferson Community Partnership

The Crooked Road Ramblers will be the 4th Backstreet Concert this year at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, June 28. In the event of rain, the concert will move to the Ashe Arts Council at 303 West School Road, four blocks to the east of the outdoor concert site. This concert is individually sponsored by Christmas in July.

The Crooked Road Ramblers is named after the winding musical path of Southwest Virginia, where most of the band calls home. The band’s leader and fiddler is Kilby Spencer. Wayne Dye plays mandolin. Karen Carr plays bass. Kelley Breiding plays claw hammer banjo. John Perry plays guitar. Donald Hill plays rhythm guitar.

The West Jefferson Community Partnership is an organization made up of businesses, non-profits and individuals interested in promoting the town of West Jefferson. It meets at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. on the fourth Friday of every month. People interested in getting involved in the town are invited to attend. Participating organizations include Ashe County Arts Council, Ashe County Chamber of Commerce, Ashe County Public Library, Keep Ashe Beautiful, Christmas in July, St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Florence Thomas Art School, Keep Ashe Beautiful, The Hotel Tavern, West Jefferson Tourism Development Authority, Town of West Jefferson, and West Jefferson Business Association.
