“COOL CORNER CONNECTION” BRINGS TROPICAL ROCK FESTIVAL TO THE MOUNTAINS OF ASHE COUNTY, NC
A stellar line-up of Trop Rock bands will perform at Old Barn Winery
Fans of Jimmy Buffett and other Trop Rock musicians, rejoice! A festival of your favorite music is coming to Old Barn Winery in West Jefferson, NC on Saturday, August 9.
Klee Liles, a popular bassist, guitarist and singer based in Ashe County, is a veteran performer of similar Trop Rock festivals around the nation – and he wanted to help bring the fun to the Blue Ridge Mountains in the “Coolest Corner of North Carolina.”
“Parrotheads (Jimmy Buffett buffs) and other Trop Rock enthusiasts are some of the most passionate, fun-loving and generous fans in the world,” Mr. Liles said. “When they gather to hear live music, it’s a great time with a great vibe. We’ve never had a festival like this in Ashe County, and I feel like this unique blend of the mountains and tropical rock will be a very special event that folks will never forget.”
Mr. Liles worked with the owners of Old Barn Winery to schedule the event at their stunning outdoor venue located at 2152 Beaver Creek School Road in West Jefferson, NC. Fans can delight in the music while surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and rolling vineyards.
Scheduled to perform is an all-star list of seasoned Trop Rock musicians. A welcome party on Friday, August 8 from 2 to 5 pm will feature a trio fronted by Roger Bartlett, the original guitarist of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefer Band. The festival on August 9 from noon to 8 pm will include Kay & Patrick Crouch, Lefty Lucy, Tropicool, Tall Paul & Kristie, and Gypsies in Paradise – a Jimmy Buffet tribute band with special guests.
