CONSENT TO APPLICATION OF WATAUGA COUNTY’s AMENDED STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARATION
WHEREAS, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization; the Governor of North Carolina has declared a State of Emergency and imposed restrictions as delineated in certain Executive Orders; and cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed within the borders of Watauga County; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the above-described incident, I have determined that there is an imminent threat of, or existing conditions have caused or will cause, widespread or severe damage, injury, or loss of life or property, and that an amended declaration of emergency is necessary in order to more effectively protect the lives and property of people within the Town of Boone; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Boone is located within Watauga County, and Watauga County has declared a state of emergency;
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.C.G.S. 166A-19.22(b)(2), by means ofmy declaration issued March 14, 2020, the Town of Boone consented to application within the Town limits of the Declaration ofa State of Emergency issued by Watauga County on March 14, 2020; and
WHEREAS, Watauga County has this day of March 26, 2020 issued an amended Declaration of a State of Emergency superseding the prior Declaration of a State of Emergency in order to, among other things, impose restrictions relating to certain Business Operations, such restrictions being described at Section 3 of the amended Declaration ofa State of Emergency;
NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as the Mayor of the Town of Boone under N.C.G.S. 166A-19.22(b)(2) and Chapter 101 of the Town of Boone Code of Ordinances, I declare the following:
Section 1. The amended Declaration of a State of Emergency issued by Watauga County on this day of March 26, 2020 shall apply within the corporate limits of the Town of Boone as provided herein.
Section 2. The following emergency restrictions and prohibitions imposed per the County’s amended Declaration of a State of Emergency shall apply in full within the corporate limits of the Town of Boone:

Section 3. The application of the County’s Declaration ofa State of Emergency within the corporate limits of the Town of Boone is effective immediately and shall remain in effect until fmther notice.
