Baldwin Signs with Emory & Henry

Last night on Instagram Live, Colby Baldwin along with his parents Suzie and Danny Baldwin met with Coach Koontz for his signing ceremony as he has committed to play football at Emory and Henry College.

Colby loves the sport of football and he has played all 4 yrs of his high school career.  On two separate occasions he was chosen to play on All American Football Teams, in Florida and South Carolina. As a Senior at ACHS he was chosen as captain,  awarded Best Defensive Lineman and First Team All Conference.  Colby was also a part of the Back to Back Conference Championships for the Huskies in 2018 and 2019.

He is interested in studying physical education and hopes to become a PE/weight training teacher and football coach.

His coaches shared the following information about Colby:

First from his position coach Avery Barr:

Colby,

I would like to begin by congratulating you on both completing your high school education, as well as, continuing your football career at the collegiate level. It has been an honor to coach you over the past two years! As a member of the offensive line you were always a player I could lean on to lead by example, and show our younger members the positive things that can be achieved through hard work and dedication. I look forward to seeing you succeed at the next level and wish you the best of luck in both your academic and athletic endeavors. So remember, keep a wide base, take short choppy steps, stay low, and always bring the smoke!

Love,

Coach Barr

Second from his Head Coach Brian Hampton

I am very happy for Colby on his commitment to Emory & Henry College to continue his football career.  Colby has worked very hard to achieve this goal.  The improvements he made were due to his work ethic.  Colby is a team player and will make sacrifices for the betterment of the team.  I am proud of Colby and look forward to big things from him at a great institution Emory & Henry.
