BOONE, N.C. – Appalachian State will play host to its second straight men’s golf tournament this upcoming Sunday and Monday. Thirteen schools will join the Mountaineers in the three-round Cape Fear National Intercollegiate in Leland, N.C.
The tournament will be held at the par-72, 7,217-yard Cape Fear National course that is regarded as one of the finest in North Carolina. Teams will play two rounds Sunday and the final round Monday. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
“We are looking forward to playing our favorite course of the year,” App State head coach Bo Redman said. “The team has had a good week of practice, and we are excited to get started.”
Joining App State in the field will be teams from Hampton, Jacksonville State, La Salle, Liberty, Loyola (Chicago), North Carolina A&T, North Carolina Central, Robert Morris, South Carolina Beaufort, Tusculum College, UT Arlington, VCU and Wright State.
This is the second tournament of the spring season for the Mountaineers. They placed sixth at the recent Bash at the Beach in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.
