2020 Spring Sports Scholar-Athlete Recognition

Due to the impact that COVID-19 had on the 2020 spring semester GPA’s and different grading options, the NCHSAA was unable to recognize team awards for the Spring 2020 season.

However, they were able to recognize individual scholar-athletes based on the third quarter grades.  We had a total of 75 student athletes that earned a weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher for the Spring Semester.  Below is a list of our 2020 Spring Scholar-Athletes.  NCHSAA Scholar-Athlete Certificates are available for pickup in the main office during normal business hours or when students return to school.  Unfortunately, we were not able to recognize our senior athletes due to the grading policy established by the North Carolina Department of Public Education.

Ashe County High School – Ejection Free
This week, our school was recognized by the NCHSAA as one of the 12 high schools in Region 7 that was ejection free for the 2019-2020 school year.  We are very proud of our student-athletes and coaching staff for the outstanding sportsmanship that was displayed this past school year.
