App State’s Hall Named Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball

BOONE, N.C. — For the second straight year, App State Baseball has a Freshman All-American.

Noah Hall, a right-handed pitcher from Charlotte, was named to the 2020 Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-American Team this week. He received the honor a year after the same publication recognized second baseman Luke Drumheller.

Hall made 10 relief appearances for an 11-6 team and went 2-0 with a team-leading 1.80 ERA in 20.0 innings. He totaled 21 strikeouts, allowed a .181 batting average to opposing hitters and ended the abbreviated season by giving up no runs, striking out 14 batters and giving up just five hits over his last 13.0 innings.

Hall’s ERA ranked ninth in the Sun Belt Conference, and he was one of just eight pitchers in the league with at least two victories and an ERA below 2.00.

The 13 straight scoreless innings spanned six appearances in which App State went 5-1, including relief outings in which he picked up road wins against Western Carolina and Charleston Southern. Hall pitched at least two innings in five of those six appearances, beginning with three scoreless innings in a 5-1 win at UNCG.
