BOONE, N.C. — App State student-athletes extended their streak to 26 consecutive semesters with a cumulative GPA above 3.0 thanks to their academic performances during the 2025 spring.
Every program at App State — 17 teams for the purposes of this measurement — finished the spring with a cumulative GPA above 3.0.
The Mountaineers ended the spring with a 3.29 semester GPA for all student-athletes, contributing to a 3.32 cumulative GPA for all student-athletes.
Tennis led App State with a semester GPA of 3.77, while women’s golf ranked first with a cumulative GPA of 3.74. On the men’s side, the top semester GPA of 3.59 belonged to men’s cross country, which also led the way with a 3.48 cumulative GPA.
The teams with a semester GPA above 3.5 were tennis, women’s golf, soccer, women’s basketball, volleyball, women’s cross country, softball, men’s cross country and field hockey. In addition to women’s golf and men’s cross country, the other teams with a cumulative GPA at 3.48 or higher were soccer, field hockey, volleyball, women’s cross country, tennis, women’s basketball and softball.
The football team, which eclipsed a 3.0 semester GPA for the first time in program history following the 2024 spring, excluding COVID-19 semesters, had another cumulative GPA above 3.0 with a 3.03.
