Bucks look to extend streak
UNDATED (AP) – Winners of 12 in a row, the Milwaukee Bucks look for number 13 tonight in Detroit against the Pistons. The Bucks have won each of their last two games by more than 40 points. Their winning streak is the team’s best since the 1981-82 season.
The Boston Celtics are one of three NBA teams that haven’t yet lost a home game this season, but they’ll face a test tonight against the Miami Heat, winners of three in a row and 15 of 20 overall. The Los Angeles Lakers, winners of 11 of their last 12, are in Utah to play the Jazz.
In other NBA contests, Golden State is at Charlotte, the Suns visit Orlando, it’s Brooklyn at Atlanta, the Pacers are in Oklahoma City, the Chicago Bulls host Memphis, Minnesota plays at Dallas, and the Trail Blazers are at home against Sacramento.
Ranked teams meet in Chapel Hill
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) – Sixth-ranked Ohio State meets number-seven North Carolina in Chapel Hill in tonight’s only meeting between ranked college basketball teams.
The Buckeyes, at 7-and-0, are coming off of their highest-scoring effort of the season, a 90-to-57 rout of Morgan State.
In other action involving top-ten teams, third-ranked Maryland meets Notre Dame, while number-five Virginia plays at Purdue. Number-nine Gonzaga takes on Texas Southern.
Kings host Capitals
LOS ANGELES (AP) – The Washington Capitals continue their three-game California swing against the Kings tonight in Los Angeles. The Capitals last night handed the San Jose Sharks just their third loss in 14 games. In other NHL action tonight, the Edmonton Oilers host the Ottawa Senators, the St. Louis Blues visit the Penguins, and the Toronto Maple Leafs host Colorado.
