KARDASHIANS PREVAIL IN LEGAL BATTLE AGAINST BLAC CHYNA
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Blac Chyna had sought over $100 million from the Kardashian family over the loss of the reality TV show she had with ex-finance, Rob Kardashian. But now she has lost the relationship, the case – and any chance at getting the money. A jury in Los Angeles gave the reality show family a clean sweep in its legal battle against the rapper. The panel found that none of the Kardashians defamed Chyna – nor did they interfere with the E! network’s decision to cancel the “Rob & Chyna” show. Chyna had no visible reaction as the decision was read in court. As for the Kardashians, they were 3,000 miles away as the verdict came in, preparing to hit the red carpet at the Met Gala in New York City.

JOHNNY DEPP’S AGENT TESTIFIES IN LIBEL CASE AGAINST ACTOR’S EX-WIFE
FALLS CHURCH, Va. (AP) – “Catastrophic.” That’s how Johnny Depp’s agent describes the effect of an op-ed piece by the actor’s ex-wife to the Depp’s career. Jack Whigham says Amber Heard’s essay in The Washington Post damaged Depp’s career and dovetailed with the loss of a $23 million deal for a “Pirates” sequel. But on cross-examination, Heard’s side challenged the testimony, getting the agent to point out Depp’s career had already been derailed by negative publicity from the actor’s own misbehavior.

KIM KARDASHIAN APPEARS AT MET GALA
NEW YORK (AP) – You could say Kim Kardashian and the rest of her reality TV show clan were celebrating their victory in a libel case in Los Angeles by attending the Met Gala last night. But they were already in New York when the verdict in L.A. came out. Kim Kardashian made more of a buzz on the red carpet than she did in court, sporting the dress Marilyn Monroe wore when she sang happy birthday to President John F. Kennedy 60 years ago. Kardashian said she had to shed 16 pounds to fit the dress. She says that “was such a challenge” – but she was “determined to do it.”
Kim Kardashian showed off the dress with new boyfriend Pete Davidson at her side for the annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Other celebrities seen at the event included Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Billie Eilish and Cynthia Erivo, as well as Cardi B, Gigi Hadid, Lizzo and Janelle Monae.

NBC TWEAKS ONLINE ARTICLES ON WEBSITE IN PLAGIARISM SCANDAL
NEW YORK (AP) – NBC News says it has changed 11 articles written for its website over the past year. They were tweaked after NBC learned they contained information from other news organizations without attribution. The network says the reporter involved in all of the stories, Teaganne Finn, is no longer with the company. In each of the stories, the network has added information to highlight the information that originated with other sites.

WNBA TO HONOR BRITTNEY GRINER WITH FLOOR DECALS ON COURTS
UNDATED (AP) – The WNBA will honor Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner with a floor decal, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press last night. The league’s Board of Governors also approved Phoenix paying Griner’s $228,000 salary – and not have it count against the Mercury’s salary cap. Griner remains detained in Russia after being busted on a drug charge. She is accused of carrying vape cartridges that allegedly contained cannabis oil. That could draw a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. Griner has a hearing set for May 19.
