RANDY NEWMAN RECOVERS FROM BROKEN NECK
UNDATED (AP) – Randy Newman had a broken neck and didn’t know it. He says in a statement on his website he noticed he was shrinking, because people he used to tower over were towering over him. Newman asked, “Could this be payback for having written ‘Short People’?” Newman had surgery and says he now looks “less like an anteater and more like a folk rock artist from the early sixties.” However, Newman’s doctor says he’s not ready to tour, so Newman will reschedule his European tour that was set to begin this month.

MARILYN MANSON SUES FORMER FINANCEE FOR ABUSE ALLEGATIONS
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Marilyn Manson has sued his former fiancee “Westworld” actor Evan Rachel Wood over her allegations that he sexually and physically abused her during their relationship. The suit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court alleges Wood’s allegations were fabricated, and that she and another woman named in the suit, Illma Gore, used false pretenses to urge other women to make sexual abuse claims against Manson, even coaching them on what to say about the rock star. The suit claims the allegations have derailed Manson’s career. Manson and Wood revealed they were a couple in 2007, and were briefly engaged in 2010 before breaking up. In 2017, Wood said she had been raped and abused – and later named Manson as her abuser.

LAWSUIT: EVAN RACHEL WOOD MADE UP ALLEGATIONS AGAINST MARILYN MANSON
LOS ANGELES (AP) – The relationship between Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Mansion has taken another strange turn – this time in court. The rock star has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-financee, claiming that Wood made up the allegations that he sexually and physically abused her during their relationship. Manson claims the star of “Westworld” teamed up with a co-defendant, Illma Gore, to fabricate the abuse claims. The defamation suit claims the women used a phony letter from the FBI to persuade others to make fake allegations – and that the women coached the other accusers as to what to say. Manson says the allegations have hurt his career.

STATE OF THE UNION DRAWS 38.2 TV VIEWERS
LOS ANGELES (AP) – In one sense, President Joe Biden is more popular than his predecessor, Donald Trump. And in another sense, the current officeholder trails Trump. Nielsen reports that Biden’s first State of the Union address got 38.2 million TV viewers to tune in. That’s higher than the 37.2 million who watched Trump’s final State of the Union address in 2020. At the same time it’s short of the 45.6 million who tuned in to see what Trump would say at his first State of the Union address in 2018. Nielsen points out this year’s numbers reflect the number of people who didn’t watch at home – and those who watched on streaming-enabled TV sets that rely on devices such as Roku or Xbox.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kim Kardashian is officially back on the market, though she and comedian Pete Davidson are already a “thing” right now. A judge in Los Angeles has declared the reality star free from her marriage to Ye. The judge granted Kardashian’s hurry-up motion which sought to have her marriage to the former Kanye West dissolved. As part of the ruling, the judge dismissed some last-minute motions by Ye and resolved others. But the biggest thing Kardashian wanted from the ruling was her name. She claimed declaring the marriage over would help Ye get on with his life.
