MADONNA’S “MATERIAL GIRL” DRESS WILL BE AUCTIONED
NEW YORK (AP) – The pink satin gown Madonna wore in the “Material Girl” video is for sale. Julien’s Auctions will auction the gown the weekend of May 20 in New York. It will be sold with the white faux fur stole, the pink satin opera gloves, the rhinestone bracelets and a non-fungible token. It turns out that gown was a rental. It was made originally for the 1980 made-for-TV movie “Norma Jean” and rented from the Palace Costume and Prop Company for the video. It’s expected to sell for $100,000 to $200,000.

THE PIXIES RELEASE “LIVE IN BRIXTON”
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Pixies guitarist Joey Santiago remembers all too well their 2004 run of shows in London that are now being released as a boxed set. Santiago says he tripped over his guitar cord and broke the guitar neck. Santiago says he recalls feeling like “an idiot” because it kept playing. He says he was “holding this broken guitar that just kept wailing.” The Pixies could have fixed that track before putting it on the boxed set, but Santiago says they left it in to show they aren’t perfect. The Pixies’ “Live in Brixton” boxed set comes out on Friday.

UNDATED (AP) – One of the stars of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” is getting a new series. Melissa Fumero has been tabbed to star in the comedy series “Blockbuster.” As the name suggests, the Netflix show is about the last remaining Blockbuster video store – and the people who work there. Netflix says Randall Park will also be in the series – and other cast members will be announced soon. The first season will have 10 episodes but there’s no word yet on when it will begin production – or air.
