SPOTIFY SAYS – AGAIN – IT WON’T OUST JOE ROGAN
UNDATED (AP) – Spotify says it won’t use the c-word – cancellation – on Joe Rogan, even after a video surfaced of the podcast host repeatedly using the n-word. The streaming service’s CEO is out with a new statement, saying it won’t part with the podcaster who’s under fire both for using the slur – and for spreading coronavirus misinformation. Grammy-winning musician India.arie put out a montage of Rogan using the slur on his shows. In response, Rogan has posted a video apology in which he says the word was taken out of context. But he says he has no right to use it – and won’t do it anymore. In a message to Spotify workers yesterday, CEO Daniel Ek says, “I do not believe that silencing Joe is the answer.”
NBC OLYMPIC HOST MIKE TIRICO RETURNING FROM BEJING EARLY
UNDATED (AP) – NBC Olympic host Mike Tirico (tur-REE’-koh) will be piling on the frequent flyer miles the next couple of weeks. After tonight’s show in Beijing, he’ll be leaving China – to fly to NBC Sports headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut to host Wednesday’s and Thursday’s Olympic shows. Then it’s back to the airport, this time for a Friday flight to Los Angeles, where he’ll anchor Olympic and Super Bowl coverage. After that, he heads back to Stamford for the last week of the Olympics. NBC says tomorrow’s Olympic coverage will be anchored by Maria Taylor and Craig Melvin, while Tirico heads home. Tirico was originally to stay in Beijing until Thursday before going to L.A. But NBC officials have said his schedule could change, based on COVID-19 and other factors.
KYLIE JENNER GIVES BIRTH TO SECOND CHILD WITH RAPPER TRAVIS SCOTT
NEW YORK (AP) – And baby makes four for reality star Kylie Jenner and rapper Travis Scott. The couple has announced they’ve welcomed their second child. And appropriately for a second child, its arrival date was Wednesday, 2/2/22. Jenner posted on Instagram an image of the baby’s hand apparently being clutched by his big sister Stormi, who’s 4. The post included a blue heart to indicate it’s a boy – but no name was revealed.

“JACKASS FOREVER” TOPS BOX OFFICE LIST
UNDATED (AP) – Even after a 12-year absence, there’s still an appetite for the Jackass crew. The fourth movie in the franchise – “Jackass Forever” – is the nation’s top movie. It took in $23.5 million in its first weekend in theaters. Not only did that exceed expectations it also easily beat its rivals at at the box office. Finishing second was “Moonfall” and third place belongs to “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” which has spent 6 of its first 8 weeks of release in first place.
