BOX OFFICE NUMBERS REBOUNDING
UNDATED (AP) – It’s something we haven’t seen in more than a year now: a box office race. But it’s something we’re experiencing again, with more movies hitting theaters and COVID restrictions easing. After dominating the Memorial Day weekend, “A Quiet Place Part II” lost 59% of its week-one box office take. That paved the way for a new number one. That honor goes to “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It,” which did $24 million in ticket sales. It’s also the biggest R-rated opening of the COVID era. Meanwhile, the “Quiet Place” sequel had $19.5 million in ticket sales.

“DRAKE & JOSH” STAR FACING CRIMINAL CHARGES
CLEVELAND (AP) – Another star of another kids show is facing criminal charges. This time, the negative spotlight falls on Jared “Drake” Bell. He used to be on Nickelodeon’s “Drake & Josh.” But authorities in Cleveland say he’s charged in a case regarding a girl he met online and who attended his 2017 concert in Ohio – when she was just 15. He has pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of attempted endangering children – and a misdemeanor charge of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. Bell faces a court hearing on June 23.

The names pay tribute to Harry’s mom, Princess Diana and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, who’s called Lilibet by her family. In a statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex thank the public for its “continued kindness and support” during what they call a “very special time.”
