TIGER WOODS SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURIES IN SINGLE-CAR WRECK IN CALIFORNIA
LOS ANGELES (AP) – It was bad, to be sure. But it could have been a lot worse for Tiger Woods. The golf legend was seriously injured yesterday when his SUV struck a median, rolled over – and ended up on its side on a steep road near Los Angeles. Woods had to be pulled from the wreck through the windshield before being rushed to a hospital. Police officials say the fact that Woods was wearing a seat belt and that the car’s airbags opened likely saved his life. While his life was spared, what’s left of his golf career may in jeopardy. Both the Los Angeles Times and ESPN report Woods shattered an ankle. He also sustained multiple leg fractures. Woods is 45 and has been struggling to regain his mobility and form since he had back surgery in December, his fifth surgery.

The reports, which included aerial footage of the wreckage, provided details about the crash, Woods’ leg injuries – and that he showed no signs of impairment. Athletes, celebrities and politicians including former presidents Trump and Obama made statements wishing Woods a full recovery.
