KIM KARDASHIAN WEST FILES FOR DIVORCE FROM KANYE WEST
LOS ANGELES (AP) – No divorce is easy. But some legal observers say they expect the split-up between Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West won’t be as messy as many other divorce cases involving celebrities. Kardashian West filed for the split this past Friday – confirming what has been talked about for a while now. Because the couple has a prenuptial agreement, it’s expected the matter will proceed through the courts without the kind of haggling over finances and property that can often accompany such matters. The couple had been together for six and a half years – and their union produced four children, ranging in age from 7 to 21 months old.
EVAN RACHEL WOOD / MARILYN MANSION
LOS ANGELES (AP) – It’s unclear whether Evan Rachel Wood’s allegations of domestic violence against Marilyn Manson are the basis of a new investigation of the rock star. Authorities in Los Angeles announced over the weekend they had launched a probe against Manson – and the alleged incidents took place about a decade ago in West Hollywood. Three weeks ago, Wood went public with her allegations against Manson, but didn’t say whether she had gone to authorities. The timeline seems to match up – but officials didn’t disclose the name of the person who made the complaint. Manson has denied the allegations made by Wood, calling them a misrepresentation of what happened in their relationship.
SETTLEMENT REACHED IN JAMES FRANCO LAWSUIT
LOS ANGELES (AP) – There’s been a tentative settlement in a lawsuit that claimed actor James Franco bullied students at an acting and film school into taking part in graphic sexual situations he filmed. The two sides filed paperwork with a Superior Court in Los Angeles informing a judge about the deal. However, parts of the lawsuit could be revived for future court action over the same issue. The suit said the incidents occurred during a master class on sex scenes Franco taught at Studio 4, an acting school which operated from 2014 to 2017.
