SUPER BOWL RATINGS
NEW YORK (AP) – It’s unclear whether it was because of the pandemic or fewer people attending parties at people’s homes – but it seems more people than ever watched the Super Bowl online. CBS says its overall audience for the game was 96.4 million viewers. But the network also says the audience included a record number of digital viewers, making this year’s game the most live-streamed NFL game ever. It also is the first NFL contest to pull in more than 1 billion total streaming minutes.

PILOT GETS PARTIAL BLAME FOR KOBE BRYANT’S FATAL CHOPPER CRASH
LOS ANGELES (AP) – Federal safety officials say it was pilot error that played a big role in the helicopter crash that killed Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna – and seven others. A National Transportation Safety Board report says Ara Zobayan made a series of poor decisions on Jan. 26 of last year that ended up with the chopper plunging into a Southern California hillside. One major error, according to the NTSB, was that the pilot flew into conditions where he couldn’t see. The report says that led him to become so disoriented – he thought he was climbing – when in fact, the aircraft was plunging.
